  Happy to see The Moorings up and running after Ian. We have stayed with them many times, not in this unit however. Furnishings were comfortable however the carpet was in need of replacement. The carpet thick and shag-ish and looked dirty. Very dated. The worst thing was a large discolored stain in a very obvious location next to the couch. Looked as if it had been bleached. There were multiple other stains that needed to be cleaned. It was the first thing we saw and unfortunately it gave a poor impression of the unit. Also noticed right away that the coffeemaker was rusty and ancient. Coffee overflowed several times because it was not working correctly. The first pan I tried to used had food crusted on it. Made us check any dishes we used carefully. On the positive side, maintenance workers were quick to respond to an air conditioning problem and fixed it while we were out. Also housekeeping and laundry workers were very nice. The beach was beautiful although we missed having chairs on the beach and found lugging them back and forth was a challenge for our older bodies. We’d happily pay extra to have someone available to do that. We will be back but will stay in a different unit next time.

  Best stay in Sanibel in 50 years, sadly in part due to the low number of visitors to the island post-Ian. But what a two-year rebound. Kudos to Moorings staff and construction workers for making everything look as beautiful as possible.
  Weather was perfect, pool and beach were perfect, 222 was beautiful. Looking forward to coming back next year, if possible.
